Edit: Reread it before checking out the sequel and I liked it a lot better the second time round. Upped from 3.5 to 4 stars.Original review:3.5 stars. Solid historical paranormal mystery about a repressed introverted Philologist who is embroiled in a murder investigation with a dashing private investigator. I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy this more than I did because all the ingredients were there, good story and an appealing pairing. After all who doesn't love the shy nerdy professor type! But I just wasn't completely caught up in the romance and I felt like I had read the story before. Maybe I'm having an off day. Anyway I enjoy this author's work and I admire that she is self-published and does such a good job of it. I will no doubt pick up the next book in this series.
